Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a measurable curve of the spine. We assess it objectively and use research-based methods to manage posture and comfort.

Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that can affect posture, comfort, and movement. While it cannot always be fully reversed, it can be measured, monitored, and managed to support better posture and quality of life.
Why objective measurement matters
Managing scoliosis well starts with knowing exactly what the curve is doing. Using Chiropractic Biophysics, we measure posture and alignment objectively so progress is tracked, not guessed.
A structured, supportive approach
Our corrective care combines specific adjustments, traction, and rehabilitation to support posture and reduce the discomfort that often accompanies back pain and posture problems.

From problem to outcome.
A clear, four-part path — so you always understand what’s happening and what comes next.
The Problem
Scoliosis is a structural sideways curve of the spine that can worsen posture, create muscle imbalance, and contribute to pain if left unmanaged.
How We Evaluate
We measure the curve and posture objectively, establishing a baseline we can track and using it to guide a realistic, individualized plan.
How We Treat It
Care uses Chiropractic Biophysics protocols — specific adjustments, traction, and postural rehabilitation — to support better alignment, posture, and comfort.
Expected Outcome
The goal is improved posture, reduced discomfort, and a spine that is actively managed and monitored over time.
What progress looks like.
Every body is different, but here’s the general arc of care most patients follow.
Measure
Objective imaging and posture analysis.
Manage
Adjustments, traction, and postural rehab.
Monitor
Re-measure to track and protect progress.
Questions about scoliosis
Chiropractic care — especially Chiropractic Biophysics — can help manage scoliosis by supporting posture, reducing discomfort, and tracking the curve objectively. We set realistic expectations based on your specific measurements.
Scoliosis is rarely "cured," but it can be measured, managed, and improved in terms of posture and comfort. The right approach depends on the type, severity, and your age, which we assess carefully.
We use objective posture analysis and imaging where appropriate to establish a baseline and re-measure over time, so changes are tracked with data rather than guesswork.

“I went to Hawkeye Chiropractic after I had severely hurt my lower back lifting something (something not even that heavy I might add). I was visibly crooked and I could hardly sit or stand. Upon my first visit, Dr. Drew was extremely helpful. He took x-rays of my back and then took the time to explain to me exactly what was going on with my back. He made sure that I knew exactly what was happing in my back and was very helpful in answer my questions. After showing me the different things that were going on in my back (I had uneven hips, scoliosis, subluxation to name a few things) Dr. Drew helped develop a treatment plan based on my individual goals. I am pretty active so it was my goal to be able to get back to working out. Dr. Drew broke down my treatment plan into sections to continue monitoring my progress. I have been going to Hawkeye Chiropractic for about a month and I have already seen significant improvements in my back. Through adjustments, traction, therapy, stretching, and a special roll that I lay on (called a scoliroll) to help straighten my back, I have seen had significant pain reduction and am much straighter. Dr. Drew and the entire staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions. I would highly recommend Hawkeye Chiropractic to anyone looking for a knowledgeable chiropractor that truly wants the best for his patients.”

“Two weeks ago I started seeing Dr. Matt from Hawkeye Chiropractic. He has very flexible hours & a great office staff. I highly recommend Hawkeye Chiropractic. I was very nervous & skeptical but within the hour I felt very confident I made the right choice. Dr Matt took his time to listen what is going on with my aches & pains. I had X-rays taken & Dr Matt was very thorough of explaining my condition in detail. I've spent too many years of Doctors just giving me steroids & medicines for my past injuries, arthritis & scoliosis. Many of those drugs are very dangerous, have had recalls or severe side effects. I'm very confident my condition will improve by Dr Matt naturally. My biggest surprise was my daughter who has scoliosis since she was 13yr old, has been to other back specialists, treated with a back brace, physical therapy, medicine & steroids for over 15 yrs. Dr Matt. treated my daughter. I'm amazed that her spine is starting to look straight & her curve is not as severe!! Thank You Dr Matt. Follow Dr Matt directions of his treatments & stretching recommendations you will be pleased with results.”
